Welcome to NOVA’s Campus Advocacy Training (NCAT) 2026!
NCAT is a seven-week live training program designed for campus advocates and community-based advocates serving college populations, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth. Facilitated by national campus experts, the training covers a wide range of topics such as ethics and boundaries, confidentiality, privacy and privilege, language justice, federal laws, restorative justice, forensic exams, and more.
NCAT will be offered from January 21 through March 4, 2026 (Wednesdays only) from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM (EST). This training is virtual only, with occasional pre-work and homework materials. Participants of this unique academy will be able to use CEU credits to fulfill the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP) renewal requirements.
Applicant Commitment:
Participants acknowledge the following:
- I am required to attend five (5) hours of NCAT training each Wednesday from January 21 through March 4, 2026 from 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM (EST).
- I can miss two (2) classes but must contact [email protected] to receive a make-up assignment and complete it by March 11, 2026. I understand that I must adhere to this attendance policy to receive a certificate of completion.
- I understand that NCAT is a training designed for campus advocates or community-based advocates serving student-survivors at colleges and universities.
- I must have access to the Zoom platform and microphone (cameras are encouraged but not required) in order to participate in the training. Dial-in only access will not be permitted.
- I understand NCAT will cover difficult topics of abuse and crime. I am aware these classes could potentially elicit a powerful emotional response. Resources to promote self-care will be provided in the LMS platform and integrated throughout the training.
