Welcome to NOVA’s Campus Advocacy Training (NCAT) 2025! NCAT is a seven-week live training program designed for campus advocates and community-based advocates serving college populations, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth. Facilitated by national campus experts, the training covers a wide range of topics such as ethics and boundaries, confidentiality, privacy and privilege, language justice, federal laws, restorative justice, forensic exams, and more. NCAT will be offered from January 15 through February 26, 2025 (Wednesdays only) from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (EST). This training is virtual only, with occasional pre-work and homework materials. Participants of this unique academy may be eligible to apply for the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP) Campus Advocacy Specialist Credential.   Applicant Commitment: Participants acknowledge the following: I am required to attend four (4) hours of NCAT training each Wednesday from January 15—February 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (EST). I can miss two (2) classes but must contact ncat@trynova.org to receive a make-up assignment and complete it by March 7, 2025. I understand that I must adhere to this attendance policy to receive a certificate of completion.  I understand that NCAT is a training designed for campus advocates or community-based advocates serving student-survivors at colleges and universities.  I must have access to the Zoom platform and microphone (cameras are encouraged but not required) in order to participate in the training. Dial-in only access will not be permitted.  I understand NCAT will cover difficult topics of abuse and crime. I am aware these classes could potentially elicit a powerful emotional response. Welcome to NOVA’s Human Trafficking Response Academy (HTRA) 2025! NOVA’s Human Trafficking Response Academy is an introductory to intermediate level training course designed for victim advocates and allied professionals working with survivors of human trafficking. This training academy includes topics pertaining to both forms of human trafficking: sex trafficking and labor trafficking (forced labor). Through engaging online training and access to dynamic, experienced instructors, those who complete this course will feel better equipped to respond and support trafficking survivors. While there is no prerequisite for this course, those enrolling should already have reasonable foundational knowledge in victim services. HTRA is four (4) full days of live training facilitated by subject matter experts, and will be offered Monday, February 10th-Thursday, February 13th, 2025 between the hours of 10:00am - 5:30pm Eastern Time. This is a fully virtual training. Learn evidence-based, advanced advocacy skills and system-based approaches for professionals working with children and families impacted by crime. This specialized victim assistance training is offered in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. This online training academy is designed to provide evidence-based best practices, enhance-based best practices, enhance valuable skills and share prevention models and systems-based approaches for professionals working with child and adolescent victims of crime and their families. Training topics include:  Intergenerational Trauma Community Impact and School System Response Cyber-based Crime and Tech-enabled Trauma Child & Adolescent Suicide Intervention Serving Neurodivergent Children Working with Families and Victims of Secondary Trauma This course is designed for professionals working with child and adolescent victims of crime and their families. There is no required prerequisite, however, this is an advanced course and those enrolling are expected to have a foundational understanding of victim advocacy and  trauma-informed practices. The 2025 CFAA is offered as a 3 day intensive online academy from January 28-30th from 10:00am – 5:00pm Eastern Time via NOVA's Training Center.  Registration Costs:  NOVA Members: $270 Non-Members: $300 Register by December 13th and get 10% off using code: CFAAEarlyBird Registration will close at 5pm ET on Friday, January 17th or when capacity is reached.  Cancellation/Refund Policy: A full refund minus $65 processing fee is available through January 24th, after January 24th no refunds will be available. The NOVA Basic Crisis Response Team Training is a 24-hour training pre-approved by the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP)® & D-SAACP.  The course is designed to provide individuals with a comprehensive overview of NOVA’s Crisis Intervention Model.  This CRT Basic training will consist of 18 hours of Instructor Led Training (Class) and 6 hours of Self-Paced Learning (Homework).  A one-hour Mandatory Orientation session will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2025.  You may choose from either 11:00-12:00 pm EST or 3:00-4:00 pm EST. The live classes are scheduled for Wednesdays in February (5, 12, 19, and 26), from 11:00-4:00pm ET (including breaks).  All Orientations and Classes will be held on Adobe Connect.  The homework assignments and additional resources can be found on this platform.  There are 4 required assignments and a required end of course evaluation.  Additional resources are included as optional learning experiences. To earn a certificate of completion, students must attend ALL live class days, submit all required homework by the deadline, and complete the end of class survey.
