NOVA Victim Assistance Academy (NVAA) Fall 2025: Thursday Class

The NOVA Victim Assistance Academy™ (NVAA) is a forty-hour virtual training for aspiring and new victim assistance professionals.  This unique NOVA academy provides comprehensive, skill-based training ideal for those new to the field, although we welcome advocates at any level! The NVAA covers 20 integral topics that together form a comprehensive, trauma informed foundation for a victim advocate.

You will learn from 20 nationally recognized Subject Matter Expert(SME) Faculty Members, bringing expertise from the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC), Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC),  the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), the Peace Corps, NOVA and more!

The Fall NVAA is offered as a Hybrid Model with a combination of live and asynchronous (pre-recorded) virtual training, that allows more flexibility, consisting of 20 hours of live virtual instruction, and 20 hours of pre-recorded training.

To earn the NVAA Certificate of Completion, you must: 

Complete all 10 live courses (Attending All Live Classes & Completing Surveys)

Complete all 10 pre-recorded courses (Watching Recordings & Completing Surveys)

Attendance at all live classes is a requirement in order to receive your certificate.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: A full refund minus $65 processing fee is available through September 29th. After September 29th, no refunds will be available.

Interested in become a Credentialed Advocate (CA) with the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP)?

The NVAA is an NACP Pre-Approved “A” Level Training; this means that after completing the NVAA you will be able to meet the training requirement to become a Provisional Level Credentialed Advocate with the NACP.

During the NVAA, you'll have an opportunity to have your credentialing questions answered directly by the NACP staff!
