Learn evidence-based, advanced advocacy skills and system-based approaches for professionals working with children and families impacted by crime. This specialized, 15 CEU victim assistance training is offered in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
This online training academy is designed to provide evidence-based best practices, enhance valuable skills and share prevention models and systems-based approaches for professionals working with child and adolescent victims of crime and their families.
The CFAA will feature two training topics per day, along with a corresponding case study where students can begin putting to use the tools and training they've just received. NOVA & NCMEC Staff will be present throughout the academy.
Training topics include:
- Intergenerational Trauma
- Community Impact and School System Response
- Cyber-based Crime and Tech-enabled Trauma
- Child & Adolescent Suicide Intervention
- Serving Neurodivergent Children
- Empowering Interventions & Holding Hope for Victims and Families
This course is designed for professionals working with child and adolescent victims of crime and their families. There is no required prerequisite, however, this is an advanced course and those enrolling are expected to have a foundational understanding of victim advocacy and trauma-informed practices.
The 2026 CFAA is offered as a 3 day intensive online academy from June 2-4 from 10:00am – 5:00pm Eastern Time via NOVA's Training Center (Zoom).
